William Arthur Durand
1905 - 2010

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William Arthur Durand beloved father and brother, suddenly on February 24, 2010 at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg MB.

William was born in Warrenton, MB in 1920 and lived his adult life in Winnipeg MB. William was a loving husband and father who was predeceased by his beloved wife (2001) of 43 years, Leona, whom he married in 1956. He worked as a machinist for the Canadian Pacific railway for 35 years before retiring in 1979. After his wife passed he enjoyed socializing with his “Horse Apple Lodge” daily at the Garden City Shopping Center. He also enjoyed his morning coffee at Tim Horton’s on McPhillips Street. He was an avid reader and had a keen interest in history, current affairs and hockey. He was soft-spoken, quiet, thoughtful and kind with a witty sense of humour.

William leaves, to cherish his memory, son Eric, daughter-in law Jane, sister Elizabeth, brother Victor, sister-in law Marilynne, niece Michele and nephew-in-law Matthew.

We’ll miss you pops, we think you’re a regular guy.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity of choice.

In accordance with William’s wishes a private family service has taken place.
