Kevin P. Sweryd
President / Funeral Director
After Graduation from the University of Manitoba in 1992 with an Arts Degree in Psychology, Kevin began his training at the Western School of Funeral Service at Bardal Funeral Home, graduating in 1994 and winning the Top Student Award for highest academic achievement in his class, and the Arbor Ethics Award. Kevin is a dedicated member of his church, a member of the Kildonan Tennis Club, Winnipeg Winter Club, a member of the Lion’s Club of East St. Paul. Kevin is married to Patricia and has two children Adam and Erin.
Patricia A. Sweryd
Vice President and CFO
Patricia has been involved in the family business with her father for 30 years. With a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Studies from the University of Winnipeg, she directs the administrative and financial areas of the Funeral Home. Outside of work, Patricia enjoys spending time with her family and friends. As a community minded individual, she is actively involved in Provincial governance, and an active member of her church, the Winnipeg Winter Club and Kildonan Tennis Clubs. In addition to playing tennis, she is always active paddle boarding, walking or biking. Recently Patricia has discovered a passion for sailing, and spends summers sailing on beautiful Lake of the Woods.
David E. Pritchard
Born in Roland, Manitoba, graduated from the University of Minnesota, Mortuary Science in 1965, than joining Bardal Funeral Home. Became a partner in 1969 at the retirement of Neil and Karl Bardal. David Holds Funeral Director/ Embalmer Licences in Manitoba and Minnesota. David is active in the First Lutheran Church, Winnipeg Philatelic Society, Manitoba Jaguar Club, Antique Motorcycle Club of Manitoba, Antique Motorcycle Club of Americia inc.and a is past director Funeral Service Association of Canada and Better Business Bureau. David is married to Gail, has a daughter Susan, a daughter Patricia, son-in-law Kevin Sweryd (President of Bardal Funeral Home), son Gordon & his wife Renee Demare, daughters; Sydney and Alexandra. David enjoys restoring classic British cars and motorcycles, skiing, woodworking and many collecting interests.
Paul J. Dawson
Funeral Director / Embalmer
Raised in St. Andrews, Manitoba, Paul worked and co-managed at a family owned business for almost 20 years. Paul joined Bardal Funeral Home in April of 2009 and started his training at the Canadian College of Funeral Service in September of that same year, and graduated in May of 2011.
Adam P. Sweryd
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Adam graduated from Miles Macdonell Collegiate in 2014 after taking the International Baccalaureate program. Adam then spent a year at his church, taking an internship which he graduated from in May of 2015. He then began full time at Bardal immediately after. Adam graduated from The Canadian College of Funeral Service in 2017. He is currently working on getting his pilot’s license. He also enjoys playing piano, bass, and drums.
Lyndon C. Stratton
Lyndon is a graduate of Master’s College & Seminary, St. Stephen’s University and The Canadian College of Funeral Service. He holds a Bachelor of Religious Education degree and a Master of Ministry degree. Early in his professional career he worked for five years in Funeral Service and then went on to serve in parish ministry. He joined the Bardal Funeral Home staff in 2015. In addition to his people, communication and administrative skills, Lyndon is a talented musician. He and his wife Lori are the parents of four sons, three daughters–in-law and three grandsons.
Mark R. Pirozek
Funeral Director / Embalmer
Mark was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and attended Kildonan East Collegiate. He was a trained Mental Health Worker with the Provincial Mental Health Department. He was then employed in the private mental health agencies. Most recently, Mark worked as bus operator for the City of Winnipeg Transit Department for several years until leaving to pursue his lifelong dream of working in the funeral service industry. Mark attended the Canadian College of Funeral Service and graduated in May of 2017.
Amber was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from J. H. Bruns Collegiate and attended the University of Manitoba for two years. Amber has always been a caring and compassionate person. She decided to put these traits to use, by making a career out of helping people going through some of the most difficult times in their life. She went on to graduate with honours, from the Funeral Directing Program at Red River Community College. Amber is a competitive athlete, who excels at hockey and participates in many other sports.
